The Roseau County Jail is a direct supervision facility with space for Law Enforcement dispatch functions as well as Jail Administration staff. Linked directly to the existing County Courthouse, the new jail provides for the safe and convenient transfer of inmates between Courtrooms and housing units.

The county's desire for greater flexibility in classifying inmates led to a layout that provided multiple segregation pods. At 27,000 square feet, the building can house up to 40 regular inmates and 6 work release inmates, and also includes in-house food, laundry, programs, and a medical services area.
