WASECA COUNTY MASTERPLAN STUDY
Waseca County needed to evaluate how to best accomplish the expansion of their Social Services and Public Health Departments. As part of that evaluation it became apparent to the County that a master plan needed to be developed to address long range planning for the Court Services (District County, County Attorney and Probation) as well as the Jail. The County and Kane Johnson brought Klein McCarthy Architects in to assist with analyzing existing conditions, department information and projected space programs for these departments.
The KMA analysis examined how to achieve the County's goals while minimizing additional new building area and utilizing existing buildings. The study involved inmate bed needs projections based on historic data and projected trends in the County and region. Review of court case loads and projected changes in looking at the needs of the County Courts. The final master plan provided the County with a comprehensive approach for addressing their current changes and master plan in a phased method over time.
