Klein McCarthy Architects completed Design Development for the Chisago County Jail & Law Enforcement Center. The proposed Law Enforcement Center is located on a site approximately one mile southeast of the existing county courthouse. The master plan considers future government expansion needs and the potential for commercial development on the site.
The Sheriff's Department includes administrative offices, patrol offices, investigations and evidence storage. An attached garage will accommodate vehicle processing and storage. The county Emergency Communications Center has already moved to this location and will be connected to the Sheriff's Office. In addition to the Sheriff's Office the County Jail will be relocated to this site. Current jail includes 176 beds, inmate services, intake/release and jail administration. Phase I of the project (the Emergency Communications Center to accommodate 911 Dispatch) has been completed.
