With a long lasting County relationship designing successful projects such as the Counties jail, law enforcement center, and withdrawal management - detox facility Klein McCarthy was tasked with designing a new DMV.
The current DMV was temporarily in a shopping mall to provide a large enough waiting area for social distancing during covid. The new DMV provides a camera station between each pair of service stations. This helps with flow and speeds up service. The new DMV was located on the same site as the withdrawal management - detox facility and shares many of the same design queues as the withdrawal management - detox facility.
The same team that designed the adjacent withdrawal management - detox facility designed the DMV which allowed the two projects to share many of the same design queues for a more consistent and cohesive County image. The same team helps economically as both projects could be visited on the same site visit.
