Clay County commissioned Klein McCarthy to design a new joint City-County law enforcement center to house the Clay County Sheriff’s office and Moorhead Police Department. The City and County collaboration provided the facility many opportunities to share common space to save in overall initial investments and continued building maintenance.
The new joint LEC facility is located on the expanded County campus just north of the courthouse. The facility provides staff with training rooms, patrol vehicle garage, interview rooms, evidence processing, locker and shower rooms in addition to office and conference room spaces.
The facility is equipped with a backup generator, building automation system, interview recording equipment, lighting controls, access control systems, in floor heating and secure wireless access for patrol vehicles.
