The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Court Security function is responsible for safely transporting and holding in-custody inmates in association with court proceedings. The main goals of the project increased the holding areas to address detention requirements for the gender separation of detainees, provide adequate space for attorney-client interviews, correct existing handicap accessibility deficiencies, provide a secure control center and upgrade security controls.
To increase the operational flow and upgrade security, the adjacent courtroom was reconfigured to provide better sightlines, judges bench ergonomic revisions, attorney and public separation, upgraded courts technology, increased acoustical treatments and security monitoring and card access controls.
