Kandiyohi County Jail Intake Addition & Remodel

Kandiyohi County commissioned Klein McCarthy Architects to expand their existing jail’s intake, holding and booking area.

The design solution provides a one story addition that accommodates group holding cells, a new dental exam room and two new mental health / special management cells and dayroom. The remodeled space expands the booking desk, adds medical exam rooms and additional holding rooms. The expansion provides adequate space for inmate transfer to court as well as much needed space to house inmates with metal health needs who may require isolation from the general population.

The project will be completed in phases to allow full occupation during construction and was completed in 2021.
