The expansion of the Pope County Government Center addressed improvements in Courts security and separation of public and staff circulation, and inmate courts holding through a significant renovation and targeted addition. Space for 911 dispatch, law enforcement offices and law enforcement services were also added. Building systems were handled sensitively with new mechanical systems serving the addition and targeted replacement of systems in the renovation.
As the existing Courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historical places, great care was taken to ensure the design of both interior and exterior met the programmatic goals of the County while harmoniously blending into the existing 1929 courthouse complex.
