Klein McCarthy Architects was commissioned to study Pope County’s space planning needs at their existing Health and Human Services building and design a new facility in a remodeled location.
Safety for staff and clients was the top priority and was achieved by creating semi-secure meeting rooms located between the public lobby and staff workspaces. Originally, the program was designed with open offices, but the pandemic changed the program goal to enclosed offices. The building renovation also provided staff with a large meeting space as well as public health exam and WIC intake spaces.
