Rice County has outgrown its aging multi-level jail and law enforcement center located in downtown Faribault, MN. Klein McCarthy Architects was hired to study options and design their new Public Safety Center.  

The Rice County Public Safety Center will be located on a 100+ acre remote site north of downtown Faribault and will include a 76-Bed Jail and Sheriff’s Office. The Jail includes 8 housing units with 13 classifications plus 2 additional housing units at Intake.  Support services include food service, laundry, inmate programs and medical.

Construction completion scheduled for Fall of 2024.
