Lake of the Woods County hired Klein McCarthy Architects to provide a schematic design to expand their existing law enforcement center. The existing facility, built in 1984, currently houses the County Jail, 911 Dispatch, and Administrative offices for the Sheriff's Office.
Klein McCarthy Architects was tasked to design an addition that would double the amount of administrative offices, create a new larger squad room, and add new vehicle and boat storage garage space for the Sheriff's Offices equipment, as well as a new vehicle sallyport garage for the Jail. In addition to the new space, the design completely removes and replaces the 30 year old HVAC equipment with a new energy efficient system. The exterior design of the new addition took design cues from the adjacent government center building to create a cohesive government campus for the County.
